Frugal Diapering: Meconium Staining
Rate this post:Cotton-Rich Washcloths |
I've been planning on doing cloth from the start but thought maybe I ought to do disposable diapers for the first few days, in order to avoid the meconium staining my beautiful new cloth diapers.
However, last night the perfect solution came to me! I am going to get a dozen or so dark washcloths and use them as diapers (pinned) for the first few days.
Afterwards, I can just use the washcloths for wipes or doublers, or pretty much anything!
Any input on this idea? Am I off my rocker to think this will work?
Kasandra: That is a great idea.... Another idea would be to cut up some old receiving blankets into liners.
Then you put those inside your regular cloth diapers and toss them out (instead of washing and reusing them like regular cloth liners) when they get meconium on them.
Thanks to Amy and Kasandra for this Frugal Baby Tip!
