Thanks to Karen & Linda for this Frugal Baby Tip!

Karen said: I've never tried this way, but I have heard about the "Scroll fold" where you take your flat prefold, and roll the sides in, instead of folding it in thirds. This is supposed to create little dams at the sides.

I too used to have lots of breastfed poo leaks at the sides. I never knew about this scroll fold until it was too late! :)

Linda said: Here's what I do. I don't fold the prefold at all. I lay the baby down on the prefold, and then I just pull it up between his legs without folding it at all. It's all bunched up, but that's what I want. Then I arrange the front of the diaper (I still have to fold it down towards his belly some) and just pull up the front of the cover over the diaper and close it. The diaper sticks out all around the legs, so I just stuff them into the wrap. This forms a better ridge/barrier than anything else I've tried. I have a lot less leaks this way.

This is also what I do when I pin. Works great for me!
