Have you tried combing the lint out of the velcro? I have a few Velcro diapers and I keep an old fine toothed comb on my dryer and comb all the Velcro diapers when they come out of the dryer.

An answer to the question concerning fleece: Malden Mills heavyweight WindPro is the BEST!! I've used it many times-- it holds in all moisture:)
