I usually just lay Ellie's stroller down and change her there if she's wet, but she's so big now that I have to find one of those germy change tables in a public washrooms if she's dirty.
What I usually do is get some paper towels and lay them on the table and then put her pad or blanket on top of them and then I can throw away the germs!

I bought one of these portable changing pads at Babies R Us for $4.
It folds up. It is wonderfully padded, doesn't take up any room at all in the diaper bag and can easily be cleaned. Wipe it down with soap and water and keep going. I have never put my child on one of those public changing tables without this pad underneath him. He is the only child that ever uses it and it is a real bargain.
