Thanks to Stacy for this Frugal Baby Tip!
I've always used the Diaper Champ for my cloth diapers. I think it works very well and would
recommend it highly. I used to keep the plastic bag inside of it, but it got too hard as baby became a toddler and liked to pull on it.
Now, I do not use a bag, just empty it every day or two and wash out with the hose. I also clean it well with soap and water every week or two. I no longer use the deoderizer in it because I empty it so often.
The Diaper Champ does keep the smell pretty well sealed, though if I throw a diaper with solids in, the smell isn't really gone to be honest (I use a service and don't have to empty the solids out).
The only aspect of the Diaper Champ that I dislike is that the lid is attached on one side. This makes it very difficult to empty the dirty diapers into the bag because the top is so heavy. I have the model from mid 2004, so perhaps this has been changed? Don't know. Overall, would recommend it.
